Jimmy Choo and H&M

Here's one designer collaboration that just may cause a stiletto riot. The ultra-glamorous Jimmy Choo—a red carpet favorite and a brand made world famous by Carrie Bradshaw in "Sex and the City"— will design a collection for H&M this fall. Following in the designer footsteps of other collaborations at H&M—most recently Matthew Williamson, the Jimmy Choo collection will debut Nov. 14 in about 10 to 12 U.S. stores and some 250 stores worldwide. The collaboration marks the first time the fast-fashion retailer will team with an accessories brand. The chic marriage will also make history for Jimmy Choo—as the British brand will create a clothing line for H&M designed to pair perfectly with the shoes. And that’s not all, there will be a men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories. Another first for Choo. “We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M, to be designing a collection that will appeal to fashion-savvy, street-smart women and to be including some great pieces for men, too,” says Tamara Mellon, founder and president, Jimmy Choo. “Jimmy Choo will bring a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible, glamorous collection to H&M—the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!” H&M's creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch describes the shoes and bags as glamorous and sexy. They "add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top-quality, high-end designer shoes and bags to our customers,” says van den Bosch.
